2 Spanish expressions. Daily.
Two natural Spanish expressions every morning. Each one comes with a literal translation, the real meaning, and a short two-line dialogue showing how Spaniards actually use it — plus a cultural note and a what-not-to-say callout. Designed to make you sound like a person, not a phrasebook.

Tomorrow at 8 AM, you receive:
echar una mano · estar hasta arriba
echar una mano — literally "to throw a hand"
to help someone out (informal).
— ¿Me echas una mano con este informe?
— Sí, claro.
estar hasta arriba — literally "to be up to above"
to be completely swamped.
— ¿Cómo va el lunes?
— Estoy hasta arriba. No paro.
⚠️ What not to say
"Ayúdame por favor" works, but it's textbook. Real conversation defaults to "¿me echas una mano?" — softer, more collegial.
🌍 Cultural note
Spanish workplaces shift to informal expressions much faster than English ones. By day three you're saying "echar una mano" to a colleague you barely know.
Same format · every morning · 365 days · expressions.
